Meet the AMSEC BFII7250 BFII Series Gun Safe, the only residential gun safe series on the market with a UL RSC Level II burglary rating. AMSEC built the BFII line for serious collectors who want commercial-grade security without paying for a TL-rated commercial safe. Half-inch solid steel plate doors, 4 way active locking with fourteen 1.5 inch chrome bolts, and an ETL-certified 2 hour fire rating put this series in a category of its own.
The BFII7250 is the BFII flagship, the largest residential safe AMSEC builds in the series. At 71.25 inches tall, 50 inches wide, and 28 inches deep, it holds 44 long guns (42 inside plus 2 on the door) in standard configuration, or up to 75 in all-long-gun layout. The 28 inch depth is unique to this model and gives you room for scoped precision rifles, large optics, and even compact safes-within-the-safe for cash or documents. At 2438 pounds, this is a forever-home safe: it's not getting moved without a forklift, professional rigging, and possibly a structural engineer to confirm your floor can handle the load. Best suited to dedicated gun rooms in custom homes, basement vaults, or commercial-grade slab installations. If you've got the collection (or the ambition) to fill a 75-gun safe, this is the one.
All six BFII safes share the same UL RSC Level II burglary rating, ETL 2-hour fire certification, and proprietary DryLight insulation. They differ in size, capacity, weight, and placement use case. Here's how the BFII7250 fits within the series:
If you're still deciding, the BFII6030 is the most popular size and a safe starting point for most collectors.
The BFII7250 holds 42 long guns (14-14-14-28-42 + 2 Gun (or 73 + 2)) and weighs 2438 lbs, with exterior dimensions of 71.25" H x 50" W x 28" D and an interior of 66.75" H x 45.5" W x 20.75" D. Inside, AMSEC's All-In-One interior provides a flexible mix of long gun racking, adjustable shelving, and a premium door organizer with padded handgun holsters. Built-in LED lighting with a mirrored back panel and a 3-outlet power strip with USB ports round out the package.
The entire BFII series is the only residential gun safe line on the market with a UL Residential Security Container Level II rating, and the BFII7250 is no exception. UL RSC Level II is a 10-minute attack test (twice the duration of standard Level I), conducted by two attackers using more sophisticated tools including pry bars, hammers, chisels, and electric drills. To pass, the safe must resist any 6-square-inch opening or full door access for the duration of the test. AMSEC's BFII passed it.
The construction backing that rating includes a half-inch solid steel plate door, an 11-gauge outer steel body with a 5/16 inch (0.3125") inner steel liner for nearly half an inch of combined steel barrier, an active drill and ballistic resistant hard plate over the lock, and an active spring-loaded re-locker that automatically deadbolts the safe if the lock is attacked or the glass plate trigger breaks during a drill attempt. The 4 way active locking system places fourteen 1.5 inch chrome plated locking bolts on all four sides of the door, with the hinge side bolted into the body so removing the hinges does not allow the door to come off.
The BFII7250 carries an ETL Verified fire rating of 120 minutes (2 hours) at 1200°F, with interior temperatures certified to remain below 350°F throughout the test. ETL (Intertek's Electrical Testing Labs) is one of the two recognized independent testing bodies in the safe industry, alongside UL. ETL Verified means the rating is independently tested and certified, not a manufacturer-claimed number. 2 hours is the highest fire-resistance certification ETL grants in this category, double what most residential gun safes offer.
The fire protection is built around AMSEC's proprietary DryLight insulation, a poured concrete-composite fire barrier that fills the space between the inner and outer steel walls, eliminating the gypsum board and seams that lower-end safes rely on. DryLight forms a continuous, gap-free thermal barrier that reinforces the steel structure while protecting the interior from heat. A dual fire seal system surrounds the door: a high-temperature silicone seal on the door jamb plus a Palusol heat-expanding seal that swells up to eight times its original thickness when temperatures rise, sealing the door against flames, smoke, and water from firefighting efforts.
Each BFII7250 ships with a UL Listed Group 2 S&G combination dial lock as standard. Lock upgrades are available at order time:
